Calculate percentages, increases, decreases and differences instantly.
The percentage calculator handles the four questions people actually ask: what is X% of Y, X is what percent of Y, how much did a value increase or decrease, and what is the difference between two numbers. Each mode does the arithmetic for you instead of in your head.
Calculations run in your browser and update as you type. There is nothing to submit, so the tool works offline once the page has loaded.

Find the percentage change
Input
from 80 to 100Output
+25%The difference of 20 is divided by the original 80, giving 0.25 or 25%.
Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value, then multiply by 100. Going from 80 to 100 gives a 25% increase.
Percentage change compares against a starting value and has a direction. Percentage difference compares two values against their average, so order does not matter: 80 and 100 differ by about 22.2%.
Percentages rarely land on whole numbers. Results are rounded to two decimals, and you can round further to match your needs.
